Update on Highway 63 Closure in Rolla, MO

If you haven't noticed, it's getting a little messy where Highway 63 meets Missouri S&T.

On March 24th, 2024 road crews temporarily closed Highway 63 for a planned project.  Construction crews are diligently working to build a pedestrian underpass allowing students and visitors to Missouri S&T to safely cross Highway 63.

While the closure may be inconvienent to local commuters, the planned closure was strategically placed around Missouri S&T and Rolla Public Schools Spring Breaks in an effort to ease the impact of traffic.

As you can see in the photo above, the student tunnel is constructed while crews hustle to stay on schedule for the April 15th reopening of Highway 63.

Along Highway 63 and Interstate 44, there are detour signs clearly posted to alert drivers.

Don't forget, businesses along Highway 63 are still open! These businesses are vital to our community and we encourage you to continue to shop local through the closure.
